We emphasize education, exposure to advancement possibilities, and skills training in the context of a structured program and personal accountability. Below are the programs provided by Rebuilding the City.Rebuilding the City Informational VideoHope for WomenA residential program for women in transition to a productive and fulfilling new live.Established in 2006, Hope for Women focuses on the inward stability of each woman and her unique needs and dreams. We give her the necessary training, skills and support system to sustain positive transformation. We offer a residential program for women who can and want to succeed. Life skills developed include; spiritual development, time management, finance and budgeting, parenting skills, health and wellness.For more information about joining Hope for Women, or for ways to partner with us, call (518) 337-9560 or email us at HFW@rebuildingthecity.orgGatewayA residential apprenticeship training program for men ages 18-25Gateway is a unique residential apprenticeship program equipping inner-city men with life training and specific job skills in one of the construction trades. Through individual programming, Gateway provides opportunities to meet the unique training and mentoring needs of each resident. Classes and Training in construction technologies, construction math and an introduction to the trades.Gateway draws from the business community and other volunteers to provide young people with skills in areas such as carpentry, masonry, car mechanics, electricity, plumbing, air conditioning and other trades. It also includes information technology and financial training.Gateway is modeled on the successful residential program Hope for Women. Young women in transition are mentored personally and professionally to live fruitful and independent lives. This program has served 35 women and 12 children with 90% having gone on to employment or higher education, living independently and getting off of DSS subsidies.For more information, please call Rev. Keith Davey at (518) 449-2335, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.orgMeals For KidsA fellowship, feeding and training program for youthIn Jan of 2007, New Hope Ministries began “Meals for Kids” which serves free, hot, home-cooked meals for kids in our community. “Meals for Kids” serves ages 4-18 and has blessed hundreds of children, single parents, and lower income families in our community in desperate need of nutritious meals. In addition to meals served on Wednesday nights, we also have opened up the main sanctuary for our Kingdom Kids Children’s Programs.ImpactAfter school program that provides tutoring, arts, sports and training in skills and technologyImpact is an after school program focused on students in sixth through ninth grades. Each student receives a hot meal and academic tutoring for up to one hour each night if needed before breaking out into one of three specialties (technology the arts or sports). We are currently working with school administrators to identify those students most in need and will provide volunteers for one-on-one and group activities four nights a week. Currently the program runs on Wednesday and Friday nights.
