Next, we identified resources and materials to use when discipling each other. We evaluated everything we were currently using in our church from in-house developed teachings to bought curriculum. We discussed other sources we have used and reviewed previously from books to bible studies. We carefully selected the initial materials we are using but this is a continuous process of reviewing and adding materials to the list.
The last step is bringing everything together so our strategic approach can be implemented and evaluated as we move forward. This is where we matched up the material and resources to a method which then mapped to a discipleship stage competency. This then mapped to a discipleship stage (see the image below showing how this is done.) All of this is done while keeping the vision for the church in mind. The result is a comprehensive document that we use as a reference for guiding discipleship as it is integrated throughout the church.
