New Hope Church came to realize that many children were coming to our Wednesday night programs extremely hungry. As a result, we use to keep a few quick meals on the premises. In Jan of 2007, we began “Meals for Kids” which serves hot home-cooked meals for kids in our community. “Meals for Kids” has blessed hundreds of children, single parents, and lower income families in our community in desperate need of nutritious meals. In addition to meals served on Wednesday nights, we also have opened up the main sanctuary for our Kingdom Kids Children’s Programs. Since the onset of Meals for Kids our children’s program has literally tripled in size. God is so good. We serve anywhere from 40-60 “at risk” children and teens each Wednesday at 6pm. In September of 2009, we expanded this program opening a Teen Extreme Center at New Hope's South Campus every Friday at 6pm. We are compelled to continue providing healthy home cooked meals for "at risk" children and teens in our surrounding church communities.
The success of this program has far surpassed our original expectations. In fact, one man that brought his family to help serve these meals ended up purchasing an additional fifteen passenger van to help us transport the influx of children.
